Program Notes:

Composed to honor the lives lost during the July 22, 2011 terrorist attack on the island of Utoya, this piece is based around alternating ideas of hope and despair. Throughout the piece chords are presented with both the major and minor thirds, creating a juxtaposition and bringing these two powerful emotions into direct conflict.
